2023 SACBA Conference & Bilby Awards
Friday 15th September Welcome Party at Three D Radio, St Peter’s Adelaide.
Saturday 16th September at Lakes Resort, West Lakes.
Our conference this year includes:
Friday evening – party at Three D Radio, light dinner & drinks provided with bus provided from the conference venue and back.
Saturday workshops – sessions include Live Music Programming, Engaging First Nations Broadcasters, Fundraising Principles, and Community Radio News Writing, plus the ever popular Station Round-up and a National Sector Update from the CBAA, CBF, & CMTO.

Bilby Awards dinner: 3 course dinner & awards presentations plus another tricky table challenge and fun quizzes.
112 people from 26 community radio stations across South Australia came together for 2 days in September for the 37th SACBA Conference and Bilby Awards, celebrating excellence in community broadcasting.
We kicked off with a Welcome Party hosted by Three D Radio and continued with a full day of workshops on Saturday at the Lakes Resort Hotel, including:
- Station Roundup – hearing the news from all stations
- Sector Update – with news from the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia, Community Broadcasting Foundation, and the Community Media Training Organisation
- Fundraising Principles – with Creative Australia
- Live Music Programming – panel from Three D Radio Live from Studio 3
- First Nations Engagement – panel from First Nations Media Australia, Umeewarra Aboriginal Media Association, PBAfm, & the CMTO
- Community Radio News Workshop – with the CMTO
- SACBA Equipment Bank & Off-Grid Trial
The weekend culminated in the Bilby Awards Dinner, the hotly contested quiz, and the winners from 90 awards entries – the highest number ever received.
